FAQ — Fan Support & Senil Ads

Frequently asked questions about running fan support (senil) ads in Japan: how to apply, pricing, permission, design review, social media announcements, crowdfunding, and more.

About fan support ads

Can you check slot availability before I apply?
We do not check availability before an application is made. We confirm availability after your application and provisional payment are completed.
Can I change the placement location or display period?
Once the slot is secured, the placement location and display period cannot be changed.
Do I need permission to run a fan support ad?
Yes. A fan support ad always requires permission from the person featured or their management agency. At the time of application, you must submit proof that approval has been obtained, such as a screenshot of the email or DM.
Can an individual run an ad?
Transit ads such as station posters cannot be placed under an individual name. Please apply as a group of two or more people.
Is a design review required?
Yes. A design review by the media company is mandatory and is based on the finished design data. Depending on the result, we may ask you to revise the design. In that case, please submit the revised data and the review will be carried out again.
How long does it take until the ad is displayed?
If you ask us to handle the confirmation/application of fan-ad permission with the management agency, please contact us using the following guideline. ■ Station poster: please contact us 2–3 months before your desired display date. ■ Digital signage: please contact us 1 month before your desired display date. If you have already confirmed and obtained permission from the agency yourself, a shorter timeline may be possible. Feel free to contact us first.

Design & data

I want to include a QR code in the design
■ For station posters: keep each QR code within 10cm × 10cm. A B0 poster can include up to two QR codes. Some locations may not allow them, so please consult us in advance.
Can I request design creation?
#Oshi-Ad also supports creating videos and poster designs. Please feel free to consult us.
I want to include social media (X, TikTok, etc.) icons
Please download and use the official logo of each platform, and be sure to check each platform’s official guidelines. The YouTube and TikTok logos require prior application from their official sites, so they cannot be used in fan support ads. If you do not use the official logo, we recommend text labels (e.g. “YouTube”, “TikTok”). Do not use self-made or look-alike icons.
About poster resolution
The proper resolution is 100 dpi at actual size. For a B0 poster, the pixel guideline (100 dpi) is 4055 × 5732. If the resolution is too low the image prints coarsely; if it is too high it may not be printable.
How should I send the data for the design review?
Please send it in JPEG or PDF format. If the file is large, please use a service such as GigaFile and send it via LINE. *AI and PSD files cannot be reviewed.
Does the design review require the finished, deliverable design?
Please submit the finished data for the design review. If you deliver data that differs from what was approved in the review, it cannot be displayed. Please refrain from changing the design after approval.

Permission & approval

Please explain the flow for requesting permission confirmation
STEP 1: Apply (apply from the site by 3 months before the display date). STEP 2: #Oshi-Ad confirms with the agency. STEP 3: We notify you of the result. Obtaining permission can take up to one month.
Can you also obtain permission from an overseas agency?
Yes, we can also obtain permission from overseas agencies.
My favorite is not affiliated with an agency
For transit ads such as station posters, placement may not be possible depending on the media company’s review criteria. In particular, fan ads for individuals not affiliated with an agency may not be approved under media company rules. On the other hand, some media such as digital signage may allow placement. The final decision is made through the media company’s review, so please feel free to consult us first.
If I obtain permission from the agency myself, what should I confirm?
To display a fan support ad, you must obtain the following two permissions from the agency. ① Permission to display the fan ad: “May fans display a fan support ad at ○○ Station?” ② Permission to use the ad materials (the artist’s official images/photos, audio/video, and other official materials). You must also obtain the agency’s permission when running crowdfunding. Documents to submit: proof of the agency’s permission (email exchanges, screen captures, etc.). *Please send a screenshot that also shows the sender’s email address identifying the agency or the person.

Social media announcements

I want to announce the ad on social media
Announcements on social media are possible, but because transit ads are displayed in public spaces, you must follow the media company’s rules. For transit ads such as station posters, announcing the detailed location (station name, line name, railway company, etc.) is in principle only allowed from 12:00 noon on the display start date. You cannot reveal the detailed location on social media before display. For digital signage ads, prior announcement may be possible after the media company’s pre-review. Rules differ by medium, so please consult us in advance. The content of the social media post may also require prior confirmation by the media company, so if you plan to announce, please submit the content with plenty of lead time.
Station poster social media announcement: notes
The display location cannot be revealed in advance. Social media announcements require a pre-review. Around 3 weeks before display, the post content (text and images) must be reviewed by the media company. After approval, post the display location only after 12:00 noon on the display day. Some slots prohibit social media announcements. Be sure to include the following text in your post. *Depending on operations, display may start after the announced release. *Please refrain from inquiring with station staff. *All inquiries to 【group name (please enter your group name)】.
Can I announce in advance if the location is not identifiable?
If the wording does not identify the specific location, such as “a poster will be displayed in the Shibuya area,” advance announcement is possible. However, content that identifies the detailed location—station name, line name, railway company, etc.—cannot be revealed before display.

Crowdfunding

Notes on raising funds for a fan ad
When raising funds for a fan ad, do not post the specific ad name or display location on social media, crowdfunding, etc. NG: “Let’s celebrate a birthday at the ABC-mart vision.” OK: “Let’s celebrate a birthday at a vision in Tokyo.”
Notes on using crowdfunding
When using crowdfunding to raise funds for a fan ad, the agency’s permission may be required. Please check the agency’s terms in advance before proceeding.

The payment deadline is 2 weeks, but since slots may sell out, we recommend transferring within 3 days.
Types of payment methods
At #Oshi-Ad, the following payment methods are currently available. ■ Ad slot purchase: credit card / bank transfer. ■ Crowdfunding support: credit card / PayPay.

Station posters

For a B0 two-panel placement or two consecutive weeks, how should I order?
■ For a two-panel placement or two consecutive weeks: please place two orders. ■ For two consecutive weeks: a single poster-printing option is fine, but depending on availability it may be difficult to display at the same location for two weeks in a row. In that case, the location may need to change or the poster may need to be re-posted at the same station. Additional poster printing may be charged, so please understand in advance.
B0 poster design notes
■ For station posters: be sure to include the “group name” and a “contact email address” in the design. Create the submission data at 1030mm × 1456mm plus a 30mm bleed on all sides. Note that due to the display specifications, the edges of the poster may be hidden. We recommend placing important elements such as text and logos at least 20mm inside from the finished edges on all sides.
